Expressive Arts
Expressive Arts is one of the 6 Areas of Learning and Experience in the new National Curriculum. It is embedded within the Curriculum in Elfed to allow students to explore their own creative work, that of others and learn to use tools, and techniques appropriately. They explore expressive arts to develop an understanding of how the expressive arts are communicated through visual, physical, verbal, musical and technological means. Through creative media they explore their emotions, the culture of Wales and the wider world.
Elfed Shows
WHAT WE BELIEVE! Drama has the power to unleash young people’s extraordinary imaginations, and in turn, to build confidence, empathy and vital soft skills. Children must be given the space and the environment to freely express themselves without the fear of judgment. The best learning results are achieved by making learning seriously play-full, whatever your age. Drama based learning develops confidence, leadership skills, debating skills, social skills, critical thinking, all-round communication and presentation skills, and importantly encourages children to not be afraid of trying and failing - Bright Young Things Drama for Schools.
Our pupils benefit in all these different ways from participating in the various roles needed to put on a show.
